Description:
Pisum sativum
Definitely the preferred way to grow and eat peas - no need to spend time shelling as you eat them whole - no waste. Produces a very heavy crop of large 8-9cm fully edible pods with juicy sweet flesh. Eat “Sugar Ann” pod and all! Try either raw or cooked in salads, soups and sandwiches in addition to other familiar uses. This variety is very productive, grows to just 60-75cm tall and doesn’t require support. If however it is supported, the yield will be even heavier.
When to Sow:
Autumn, Winter and Spring, depending on the climate. In warm areas sow to mature before really hot weather arrives. However, in cooler areas can be grown for Summer picking. Pods are normally ready for picking from around 55 days of sowing.
