Description:

Turnips can be in season all year round if one wishes and are their best when small, crisp and sweet. Many people think of turnips only fit for soups and stews, but a young Tokyo Cross pulled straight from the ground after 30-40 days, peeled and eaten fresh will convert many to this tasty crisp and juicy low calorie vegetable. Eat some at golf ball size in salads and allow other to plump up and try the gourmet recipe below.

When to sow:

Early Spring, Summer and Autumn at 3 weekly intervals to provide you with a continuous supply of little turnips. They do well in all climates.
