Description:
Dianthus Chinensis heddewigii - annual 25-38 cm high
A superb weather resistant variety for containers, bedding and cut flowers. The double, sweetly scented carnation are blooms of deepest maroon to almost jet black highlighted by striking white fringes and petal reverses. These strong plants tolerate a wide range of conditions including very dry and are free flowering over a long period. The cut blooms are long lasting.
When to sow:
Almost all year round but usually in Spring or Autumn. In extremely cold climates avoid putting transplanting seedlings outside when frosts are due.
